West Ham United will be confident of progressing to the next round when they welcome struggling Middlesbrough side in their FA Cup fifth round clash on Saturday.
Middlesbrough have won just two of their last 15 matches, with both the victories coming in the FA Cup against Barrow and Wolves. Pressure is slowly increasing on manager Gareth Southgate who is finding it tough to repeat Boro’s FA Cup performances from the last three seasons when they made it to the sixth round.
West Ham have recovered from a poor start under Gianfranco Zola and have won six and lost just one of their last nine matches. The last time both West Ham and Middlesbrough met in the cup was back in 2005 when the Hammers secured a 1-0 win to qualify for the finals of the tournament.
