Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari will be expecting a positive response from his side when they take on Hull City in their next Premier League match on Saturday.
Chelsea’s title hopes suffered a big blow last weekend when they were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool thanks to a late brace by Fernando Torres. The defeat leaves Chelsea five points behind league leaders Manchester United and three behind second placed Liverpool.
Hull City finally ended their six match losing streak by collecting a point against West Bromwich Albion last weekend. The Tigers twice led the game through Bernard Mendy and Craig Fagan but West Brom managed to pull level each time, leaving both the sides with one point each.
Ricardo Quaresma could make his debut for Chelsea after completing a loan move form Inter Milan while Frank Lampard is available for selection after seeing his red card rescinded by the FA. Lampard was sent off by referee Mike Riley following a fair challenge on Xabi Alonso during Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool last weekend.
