It doesn’t get much more David vs Goliath in the Premier League than this weeks meeting between Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers. Manchester United seem incapable of losing a Premiership match these days while the visiting Blackburn Rovers are currently fighting for first division survival.
Manchester United were winners at home in their last match as they brushed off the challenge of Fulham by a score of 3-0 at Old Trafford. With the clean sheet the side managed by Sir Alex Ferguson have now gone 14 Premier League games without conceding a goal. The Red Devils occupy first place in the league table with 59 points and enjoy a 5 point edge on 2nd place Liverpool. United are reporting just two injury concens this week in Anderson and Owen Hargreaves.
Blackburn Rovers suffered through yet another loss at home last week when they fell to the impressive Aston Villa by a score of 0-2 at Ewood Park. Rovers are currently in 18th place of the Premiership log with 23 points and sit just 1 point behind 17th place Stoke City. If the season were to end today the side managed by Sam Allardyce would make the drop. Reid and Brett Emerton are both set to miss the rest of the season due to injury.
