West Ham will hope to progress further in the FA Cup when they welcome Championship side Barnsley for a third round encounter over the weekend.
Last season the Hammers lost to Man City in the third round, but
they also happen to be the most successful club in crossing this hurdle
having lost only 5 times in 25 years. However manager Gianfranco Zola
has multiple concerns ahead of this game as he needs to make decisions
on whether to sell Craig Bellamy and Scott Parker.
With just 4 wins in 15 games under his charge, the Hammers are under
pressure to retain their Premiership status even as the club is facing
a severe financial crunch.
Barnsley could be hoping to exploit the situation at West Ham, but
the club has multiple injury concerns ahead of the game. Anderson De
Silva, Darren Moore, Rob Kozluk and Martin Devaney are out injured,
while on-loan striker Jamie Cureton cannot play as his club Norwich has
not given their consent for the same.
