Sunderland face Bolton in one of the three all Premiership encounters in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.
Black Cats boss Ricky Sbragia will hope the FA Cup can bring some
cheer for fans who are relieved to see that the exit of Roy Keane has
not affected the club as badly as feared.
Sunderland have done well enough to make Sbragia’s job permanent
until the next season at least and he has indicated he will being some
new players in January. The manager has also ended the loan spell of
Michael Chopra at Cardiff City, but the former Newcastle striker may
not feature in this game as he has an ankle injury.
Last season Bolton were dumped out of the FA Cup in the third round
and manager Gary Megson will hope his side can progress further this
year.
