Liverpool visit Preston for their third round FA Cup tie searching for their second win in this competition in four years.
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has included skipper Steven Gerrard in
the side despite him being arrested earlier in the week. Bentiez has
thrown his support behind his skipper and hopes he can guide Liverpool
through.
Reds striker Fernando Torres is back in the squad after recovering
from hamstring injury, which saw him miss almost one month of action.
For Preston on-loan winger Ross Wallace will feature after his club
Sunderland gave permission for him to take the field. Wayne Henderson,
Liam Chilvers and Neal Trotman are all out with injury. Last season
Preston lost in the fifth round to Portsmouth, who eventually won the
trophy.
