Everton will be looking to avoid another upset against a lower league opponent when they visit Macclesfield in their FA Cup third round clash on Saturday.
Everton were dumped out of the competition in the third round by
Oldham last season and manager David Moyes will be hoping that his side
will put up a good performance and qualify for the next round for the
first time in three years. The Toffees are in good form, not losing in
their last four matches and while they continue to struggle with
injuries up front, Moyes will be pleased by the recent form shown by
his side.
Macclesfield will make history on Saturday with a victory against
Everton seeing them qualify for the fourth round for the first time in
their 135-year history. This is the second time that the League Two
club has featured in the third round with Keith Alexander’s side losing
out to Chelsea 6-1 during the 2006-07 season.
